Bệnh Zika
Zika virus disease is caused by the Zika virus, which is spread to people primarily through the bite of infected mosquitos of the species Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.
The Zika virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes. The same mosquitoes can also transmit dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever. Zika was first identified in Uganda in the 1940s and has since spread across the world, causing relatively mild disease.
In recent years, in Latin America, the Zika virus has been associated with more significant disease outcomes including nervous disorders in adults and microcephaly in new-born children from Zika-infected mothers.
